Some visitors are slightly (sic) less welcome when we're engaged in our usual death match struggle w/ the yard. Treefrogs, slugs, toads, bluebirds, dragonflies, worms, and random yucky creepy crawlies all welcome.
Seconds before this picture was taken, I was lugging across the yard the rock underneath which this little lady was hiding/hanging out. Aaaiiiyy!!
Thank you, Ms. Black Widow, for not biting me.
Brrrr.

Blugh, ick.
I *hate* spiders so much.
All the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up now.

Sweets, you should've seen me hopping around going "ack! ugh! bleah! brrrr!" Not a pretty sight, and then when I read about the havoc their neurotoxins can wreak, I had to climb down off the ceiling. That would have SUCKED BIG TIME.
Usually I check rocks and wood, etc., but I was dead tired, it was late in the afternoon, and I just wanted to get the last bit over with. Never again! Diligence, my friend! You be careful.

I freak out over Wolf Spiders. I could not be within a metric mile of a Black Widow.
