We at arse po take v. seriously our duty to bring joy to our pals. To that end, I'm going to urge all of you who do not yet subscribe to KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" podcast via iTunes to do so. Because I can't link directly, here's how you, too, can partake in the joy that is the MBE podcast:
Mac users, open iTunes.
PC users, download iTunes
Once you've got iTunes up and running, go to the iTunes store and in the search box on the top right, type in 'KCRW.'
The first hit will be the "Morning Becomes Eclectic" podcast. Subscribe to this by clicking the Subscribe button. (It's free.)
You'll note a little swirl action next to the word 'Downloads' in the left-hand menu. When this is done, move above to your Podcasts link and click it.
You'll see the podcast (depending on when you do this) for the 3/13/07 show. Hit Play.
Rock out to Peter Bjorn and John. It's so delicious, I've listened to it three times. The 2nd half of the show is pure rock city.
In a brief interview w/ Nic Harcourt, MBE's host, Peter or Bjorn, not sure who, says that they were influenced by the Stone Roses. Hell yeah, they were.
And there you go, friends. Pure pop joy from me to you -- well, from Peter Bjorn and John to you. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for explaining how to use the Podcast function on iTunes... I can't tell you how long I've been meaning to figure it out but never got around to it.
Any other recommendations?

That's funny - I was listening to PB&J (peanut butter and jelly?!) just yesterday, and really enjoying it.
I thought it sounded very smiths-ish.

maitresse, I've only recently done this myself, and I don't think I'm going to be a very Pavlovian podcaster -- that is, I'll only check in when it occurs to me that, hey, I might like to hear that new thing, whatever it is. So I've signed up for just a few things I like in the real world: This American Life, the KCRW song of the day, the KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic podcast (from which I got the PB&J podcast, though it would be worthwhile checking out all of their music programming at KCRW.com to see what you like!), a French music podcast, because all of the French hip hop I've heard I've actually liked, and a new thing (to me): Podington Bear, which is really nice electronica. If I stumble across anything especially fun, I'll try to remember to blog it!
pinky, I was digging the PB&J acronym, too! Anything that sounds Smiths-ish gets my vote, which means that I was a fan of the Stone Roses, which means that I am a fan of PB&J. Can't wait to see who's next in line for me to be a fan of. If you've found them, let me know!
