I'm just sayin'. And in honor of Mr. Darwin's contributions and his travel route, I'd like to thank him for my fine, fine day kayaking in the Beagle Channel off the tippy tip of South America. Utter heaven.

I wanna go to Patagonia. And I wanna go now. I'm gonna stand here and hold my breath until you folks tell me I can go. So there.
Beautiful pics. It must be an amazing place.

handdrummer, I always wanted to go to Patagonia and when we chose Argentina as our trip destination, it was a no-brainer for me -- my only choice when we put the itinerary together. I cannot say enough about Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego especially. It's heaven. Beautiful landscapes. Impossible to take a bad picture of the place. Pristine, untouched, sounds only of wind in trees, bird calls, grass swishing around your knees. No. Noise. No sight blight. It looks like the land before time, because it's the land before free market land grabs and strip malls. I would get on a plane this second to go back. Hell, I would walk there if I were free of work. I can't let my mind rest on another travel destination (and I have many, many, many "wish" places to go), because I can't get Patagonia out of my mind. I encourage you to go, because some destinations were booming, lots of new construction, rumors of real estate buy ups, etc., when we were there. I hope to all deities that the gov't protects most of that land. There's nothing I've seen like it. And the people are truly wonderful. Lovely.
